EPC’s Center of Excellence (COE) program for knee and hip replacements, as well as shoulder and spine procedures, provides eligible members access to exceptional outcomes and an outstanding patient experience with some of the nation’s top orthopedic surgeons at The Christ Hospital Joint & Spine Center.

The COE program is thoughtfully designed to deliver high-quality care, excellent outcomes, and significant value. For members who meet eligibility requirements and are approved for the program, the procedure is 100% covered by EPC. This includes facility, surgeon, and applicable ancillary costs associated with the hospital stay, resulting in no cost to the member for the covered procedure. Members traveling more than 90 miles to The Christ Hospital may also be eligible for one night’s stay at a partner hotel, paid for by The Christ Hospital.

Eligibility is required. Not all members or procedures will qualify for the COE program. Members must contact a Nurse Navigator to determine eligibility prior to scheduling care.

If eligibility requirements are not met, the member’s health plan will be billed for the consult and any related testing, and standard plan provisions will apply, including applicable deductibles, copays, or coinsurance.
